    Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft

Any one had any major probs or hang ups with it before I ditch the Suse 10.1 and try this flavour.

Do you really care what my actual home system and network is I am sure yours will be bigger, better and faster.

Only with my very new wlan chip but that got resolved eventually, otherwise it's sound as a pound. You can just try it from the cd before you install though and see if it all works ok for you.

I haven't used Yast so I can't compare but synaptic is very simple, I suggest using ubuntuguide.org for assistance on installing non-free codecs after you've installed.

A lot of SuSE users (me included) prefer to dump Yast as a package manager and use Smart instead. It works much like Synaptic, but handles many different types of repository.
