PHP, mySQL and Dreamweaver - connecting headache!

I am completely new to using PHP/Mysql although I have been designing and creating static sites for years - but not using database/asp etc.

I am pretty sure I have php/mysql and apache running correctly on the mac (os x 10.4.8). Dreamweaver connects okay to the site when I test it for both Remote Info and Testing Server. I have even managed to load a couple of test php files and they seem okay in my browser. Using the myzen "phpAdmin" site I have created a table and a database, but whatever I do I can't seem to get Dreamweaver to create a database connection, I always get the errors "there is no testing server running on the server" or "the testing server specificed does not map to the ftp site. Verify the URL Prefix maps to the root of the site."

If anyone can spell out in "pretty-dumb" English what I should be doing it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks
