    Net neutrality.

The heads of Virgin Media want to limit internet access to websites that don't pay them additional money to have a fast link to them.

When one of the CEO's of Virgin was asked about Net Neutrality, the response was 'Its a load of boll*cks.

I wonder how many other ISPs are thinking this way, and where do Zen stand on this issue?

    Hi Andyrew,

If what your saying about the CEO of Virgin Media is true then thats quite scary. That implies the whole issue of controling the internet at ISP level and if you take that to a logical conculsion. Then the ISP is deciding for the end user which websites or pages they are & are not permitted to view. Based on how much profit the ISP can leverage from the individual.

I think if the ISP industry were to go down that kind of path it would kill one of the most important aspects of the internet in
the sense that no one person, company or country can control the internet. I'm thinking of an example of this i.e. China.

**Actually this idea of controling the users access based on how much money the ISP can make from the individual is quite sad and abit sick really. YES! I'm not totally naive I know that in a capitolistic system everything is reduced down to cost or money but once again we are in danger of killing the very think that makes the internet so special in my opinion. That the internet has a certain freedom and a certain chaotic anarchie about it. Killing the spirit of the internet perhaps is another way to put it?

**Yes! I would also be interested in Zens comments on this too.

There is a petition against this here:

I'm surprised there are not more signatories, but then I was only directed to the link this morning and don't know how long it has been open.
