We have supported POP3S and SMTP/TLS+AUTH for some time now, so you can now send/receive from anywhere on any network.
For POP3S you'll need to tell your mail client to connect via SSL.
For SMTP/TLS+AUTH you'll need to tell your client to connect to SMTP with TLS, and that you'll need to authenticate with the server, using your POP3 user/pass.
