issues getting cgi scripts to work

    Hi All,

Hope i'm posting in the right place. I am using my personal Zen webspace for the first time and have created a cgi-bin folder in the root directory.

In there is a cgi script which I have tested, however if I navigate to the script'si url direct I get '404 file not found'. If I try and get to  the cgi folder above for a directory listing I get a 'Permission denied'.

I'm guessing it may be a permissions issue, however I can't change them to 755 (as the Zen faq suggests) as I get permission denied (I have tried using command line ftp and cyberduck)

     Any ideas greatly appreciated.

     Cheers

    Nick

Re: issues getting cgi scripts to work

    Hello Nick,

If you're referring to Zen webspace provided with a Broadband account then unfortunately you won't be able to run the script.  The basic space provided with your Zen Broadband account does not have support for any scripting technologies; you would need a Hosting package to run your own scripts.

Details on the Hosting packages provided by Zen can be found at:

    Kind regards,

    Phil Long

Ok, that would be the problem then.

    Thanks,
