OK .. need some help here.
A lot of telco companies are offering Internet/Home Phone bundles. I'm not interested in this as I want to retain my current ISP.
What I'm looking for is a deal which gives me land line & mobile as part of a package .. hopefully offering some savings.
Any ideas folks?
Maybe you could look at http://www.thephone.coop
If you invest a pound and switch to them, you get a percentage back of whatever you spend with them each year.
I was actually looking for a land and mobile deal as I'm happy with Zen .. can't afford to have poor quality internet connection in my line of work. I've given up on this now as I've switched over to 3 for my mobile phone deal .... just looking for a good land line deal now.
So - quick question - is a BT land line a pre-requisite to having Zen ADSL? i.e. Can I bail out to another phone provider without it screwing up my internet connection?

If you want a broadband connection from an ISP that utilises BT's ADSL service provision then I am almost certain that you need a BT land line. That's the way it has been since the arrival of ADSL from BT, in more recent years the reliance on a BT land line has been eroded due to LLU at the exchanges. If I'm wrong hopefully someone will correct me!
Zen's ADSL connection will only work on a BT analogue line. There are some resellers who offer different prices to BT - but ultimately still provide their service on BT's infrastructure. As long as you go with a company that uses BT's copper system you will be ok.One other thing to consider is something called a cease. If you ever change your details with BT, or chnage suppliers, BT will reset (or cease) your phone line to make the change. This will result in the broadband element of your phone line going down, and the Zen tag will be removed. You would then have to go through the process of reconnecting to Zen (and paying connection fee) and experincing downtime....
Good luck with finding the cheaper deal. Have you considered Zen's Voice service? :)
