Free BT I-plate for BT Broadband Customers with extension sockets! Just pay £1.20 p&p

If you do have BTBB and have extension sockets and a certain type of socket (last in list) you may be eligable to a free I-plate, p&p is only £1.20 and added to your next broadband bill, Normally £11.73!

This device is to help increase speed. its not guarenteed, but i have heard from a few people that its worked! simply connects to your socket,

    ORDER HERE : www.bt.com/accelerator

I don't have BT broadband but I do have a BT lne and account and I ordered one.

Won't know if it works until I get it and phone account billed, but for this price it is worth a try.

Nice find BritBrat, I signed up myself and it says I will get it within 2 weeks, Real nice find, as something like this will always come in handy at somepoint in the future and for £1.20 you cant go wrong.

Win win situation all around me thinks.

    Cheers ;)

    EDIT:

Having read upon what the I-Plate does and is, all it does is bypass the bellwire in your socket thus cutting out any interference said bell wire can attract, well,  I already dont have the bell wire in my sockets, so I just paid £1.20 for nothing, so it isnt a win win situation for me, ahwell, maybe if I move house in the future it might come in handy then :)

But still a good find for the majority of ADSL users BritBrat, as I would assume that the majority of residential phone lines in the Uk still have the bellwire still hooked up inside, thus causing alot of people alot of problems that they ordinarily wouldnt have to put up with if they didnt have the bellwire or had an I-Plate in the first place.

I bought a BT iPlate. Total waste of money. My average connection speed before the iPlate was 6mb. After fitting the iPlate it is 6mb. In fact today I'm getting speeds of 1.5mb according to Speedtest.net, and even though I live in Essex it is recommending a server in Manchester and the London/Reading servers are not even showing! I won't be sucked into a con like that again.

Seems like BT have discovered non-BT Broadband customers are trying this. I placed an order for the I-Plate a couple of days ago and last night received this email:

    below.

    Dear *****

Thank you for your recent request for a BT Broadband Accelerator.

According to our records you are not a BT Total Broadband customer. As this offer is limited to BT Total Broadband customers only this request will not be progressed.

You can buy a BT Broadband Accelerator - also known as an “I-Plate” - at the online BT Shop. Please see www.shop.bt.com/iplate for details.

    Best wishes,

Looks like they have caught onto the fact that non BT BB users are trying to get a cheap iplate, 4days after I made my post is when my one arrived, so they were still giving them out then, but its probably changed now :(

It didnt do anything for my connection anyway, so its no big loss and if you want you can manually disconnect the bell wire in the phone socket and get the same performance as the iplate would give.

I just noticed, the dates are exactly the same for yours and mine, so you got knocked back on the same day that I got accepted, strange ?  do you have a BT phoneline ? or do you use another company for your phoneline access ?

I pay my line rental to BT, but my calls go through Sky Talk. Perhaps that put up some sort of flag on my account with BT.
