I have a speedtuoch 510 modem and I want to configure it so that it acts Solely as a router. Reason being, I changed ISP's and this new ISP uses coax, not telephone lines.... but the new modem onl yhas one ethernet port... So I still use the speedtouch modem coz so many ppl in the house need to connect to the net. DHCP, NAT, DNS are all turned off on the 510... so I think it's acting like a switch now? But I'd like to conifgure it so taht, everyone conencting to the speedtuoch has a private IP, like 10.0.0.x and one IP on the other side. How can I get that done?
I have the latest firmware for my modem.
