    Any Advice Welcomed

    Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum and to Zen as an ISP. Currently in the process of Migrating with an activation date of Monday 4th June. I was wondering if I could pick your collective brains to get a few pointers or tips on how to best prepare for activation and also going forwards, to ensure I get the best performance I can (am new to MaxADSL).

I have read that to avoid potential issues, you should switch your router off prior to activation... is this true?

If it helps, my current set up is with a Linksys WAG54GX2, connected to a 2Mb enabled ADSL line via a 'shielded twisted pair' (?) RJ11.

On a side note, with regards to this router, I do have a set up question that perhaps someone could answer - in the VC settings, it has a 'QoS type' list box and you can select either: UBR, CBR or VBR and underneath that, it has 2 further boxes to input figures for PCR rate & SCR rate - I have never used these settings before, so was just curious as to what they should be set to or, whether to just leave them well alone?

Any advice, guidance, tips or pointers, would be greatly appreciated!
