  • Usage Caps at Night ?

We are one of your Home 500 users ( 512K no Cap ) and while generally happy would like to upgrade to faster service .  However the capacity caps you offer are different to most of your competitors  - generally they have similar limits, but have no limits for night time downloads.  Are you planning to match this kind of policy, ...

  • Broadband speed getting slower

For the last couple of years I have been happily working away with my IP Profile running at either 2Mb, or sometimes at 2.5Mb, with a snrm of 6dB, varying by 2 or 3dB through the day. Given where I live, I was happy with that. Late last year I (foolishly) decided to upgrade the router (netgear DG834) f/w to the latest level. Don't ask me ...

  • Modem or Line Issue?

Hi,   I had this line setup with Zen about 3 weeks ago and had an old US Robotics ADSL2 router just to get the line trained before moving in. This seemed to be 5.6 to 5.6 d/s whenever I was around to check it. Upon first moving in, I did notice it drop synch a few times and disconnect me playing WoW, but didnt think too much of it coming ...

  • What to do when you can't get MAX DSL

I live in MK and was on the BT long reach trial as we were so far away from the exchange.  Eventually we were able to get 512k and I was happy to be able to use Zen again for broadband after a few hideous weeks on dialup.  Now – the latest tests show that we can get up to 1mb.  Does anyone know of an ISP that can offer a 1mb ...

  • Re: Zen 8000 Lite monthly download allowance

I was interested to hear about those beta usage gizmos, since that was going to be my next search, to see whether I could determine on the fly how much each action at the computer ''costs'' me in terms of capacity consumption. The thing is, where I was able with dial-up to do a number of things that were essentially ''free'' (after paying the ...

  • Zen 8000 Lite monthly download allowance

I've been with Zen on their 8000 Lite package since 3rd August 2007 and am very impressed by (a) amazing speed (BT speed checker: 6240 kbps); (b) excellent support portal; (c) worked ''out of the box'' with minimal hassle; (d) reliability.BUT! I now realise just how little 2Gb per month is. Man, this line EATS data like there's no tomorrow. It ...

  • Windows constantly asking for unnecessary connection

Having recently switched from an ADSL modem to Zen Active and the SpeedTouch 536 router, I'm finding that some websites cause windows to constantly ask me for an unnecessary internet connection.  For example, if I visit eBay, having previously connected as normal, the 'network connections' box constantly pops up, prompting me to choose a ...

  • Draytek 2800G

Hi, Has anyone tried successfully to upgrade to the 8000 Active service using a Draytek 2800G router. Zen sales have suggested to me that this is not a safe option. Draytek suggest it should work although line synch issues (whatever they are) could cause a problem - or no increase in speed - (theoretically I should be able to get 4Mb). However, ...
