  • ADSL2+ upgrade - very good result

My line was upgraded from Zen Pro 8000 on 08.06.10.  Upload speed increased immediately to 0.8-0.9 Mb/s (which was the most important thing for me) but download speed initially decreased to max slightly below the previous consistent 7 Mb/s and became very unstable, in fact was all over the place during the last 3 days, at times down below 1 ...

  • Looking for advice

Hi, I've currently got an open query with Technical Support and bearing in mind Phil's comments about not using the forum to short cut this process I'm not looking to rock the boat as it were.  What I would like is for anyone with more experience than I to provide a second opinion if possible. I'm currently on a fixed speed 512 service, and ...

  • Very bouncy connection sync: now stuck on BRAS 250 since 30th of May

Hi, Up until about 6 weeks ago my connection (since May 2006) had been great. Things started to go wrong with the router dropping sync overnight and needing to be reset manually so I attacked the house wiring and removed the bell wire and a spur helpfully added by ntl: (before I got ADSL and moved to BT) and my sync went up by another 512 and ...

  • Broadband speed getting slower

For the last couple of years I have been happily working away with my IP Profile running at either 2Mb, or sometimes at 2.5Mb, with a snrm of 6dB, varying by 2 or 3dB through the day. Given where I live, I was happy with that. Late last year I (foolishly) decided to upgrade the router (netgear DG834) f/w to the latest level. Don't ask me ...

  • What to do when you can't get MAX DSL

I live in MK and was on the BT long reach trial as we were so far away from the exchange.  Eventually we were able to get 512k and I was happy to be able to use Zen again for broadband after a few hideous weeks on dialup.  Now – the latest tests show that we can get up to 1mb.  Does anyone know of an ISP that can offer a 1mb ...

  • Pulling My Hair Out

Hi All  When I first started with Zen over a year ago now I was getting around 1.4mb, from Jan this year 0.9mb.  Two weeks ago 0.2mb. Contacted CS and did all the normal stuff took of the face plate (ADSL Nation BB Filter) and fed router thru std filter into the back, downstream rate went back up to 1728. Zen suggested that the face ...

  • ADSL MAX Line Speed

Reading several posts re distances from exchanges etc, I notice a lot of people who live 2-3km away are getting much faster d/l speeds than me.  I shall post my router details and if anyone can point out why I only get 3Meg despite living <1km away it would be appreciated Noise margin down 12.9 up 21 Attenuation  down 10.0 up ...

  • Speed Diagnostics Guide - Read before posting about speed issues
