    New Noob. Assistance required. :-)

    Hello!

So my family have made the precious move to Mac. And we are looking for a new ISP which we can use with the Macs, im currently using the Intel MacBook and there is soon going to be another.

My question is, if we go with Zen, will we be able to connect to the internet using the modem that is provided?(wireless) or will we still have to purchase the Base station?

Is it easy to set up? and does it work well wireless with the Macs?

Regarding calls, what is the package like to make calls?

Thanks for any help, and thanks for your time.

I'm using Zen, with a network comprising a G4, G3, PowerMac 9600 and a PeeCee, Safecom ADSL router also feeding to a D-Link Wireless rourer so have, in essence, 2 networks, I've never had a problem with Zen except on the odd occasion where there have been outages [pre notified on the support pages] for load balancing.

I changed to Zen last year when I used a PC exclusively, and had a two station SOHO network connected via a LinkSys WAG354G ADSL router.  When the family are home, there are usually two other machines elsewhere in the house accessing via wireless.

I bought a 20" iMac last December, connected it to the router and was online in a matter of minutes. The built-in Airport in the iMac will also work with the router via wireless.  IMHO, there is no need to purchase the Base Station if you already have an adequate device (you don't actually say what you have and since I didn't opt for the supplied device, I'm somewhat in the dark).

Correct - You don't need the base station, but you should make sure you have an ADSL router with built in wireless.

A Speedtouch 585 router (see http://www.zen.co.uk/Broadband/buyhardware.aspx?page=452) would be a good choice, which you can purchase at the same time as your Broadband order if you like.

    Kindest regards,
