Hi all

 I am trying to upgrade the firmware on my router, I currently have V6.2.17.5, I have downloaded the 780WL_UK_62T3.bin from the Thomson website, Which appears to be newer.

The upgrade wizard asks to supply username and password and all goes ok, Right until the wizard says that the upgrade has failed due to hardware not being detected.

This is after actually logging into the device, And passing an initial detection at the beginning of the upgrade proccess.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be, I have had no problems upgrading before.

I have tried on Vista64 (Main system) and with an XP32 system, Both with the same results.

To answer my own question, I found out what the problem was, It seems I needed to setup a static IP before the upgrade would work, all done now.

Since the firmware has now vanished from the Thompson site could you perhaps make it available somewhere? I am suffering from random wireless brokenness and I am hoping the new firmware helps. If it is small enough to email PM me and I will tell you my email address.
