    Zen mirrors for GNU/Linux distro's?

    How about it?

It could be restricted to Zen users, could speed up downloads and save Zen having to to route traffic to other ftp sites and repositories.

Zen could mirror the popular distro's such as Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian and Suse.  I would put in a plea to include gNewSense as well as it is one of the few 100% free software distributions and I use it  :-)

Any downsides?  Well, someone would have to set up the mirrors, but I can't think of anything else particularly.

To be honest, I dont think it would be worth it, as Linux Distro websites are already fast enough for downloading and have maxed out my connection no matter which ISP I have been with when dloading a distro, maybe their would be some benefit by having zen host them ?  but apart from the speed side of things, which is already great elsewhere, I really cant see any other upside to it.

Their maybe is, but I just cant see it.

Sorry Andrew, but the idea is a non-starter. Mirroring Linux distros is a significant task which would take up someone's time as well as hardware resources. And as ES said, there doesn't seem to be any need.
